What’s Important to Our Staff
At Support for Living, we seek to employ staff who will add value to the lives of the service users we support, understanding and putting our values as an organisation into practice. This means that we pay great attention to creating an environment that is safe, fair and enjoyable for the people who work for us. The section below will tell you how we go about doing this and what we can offer to those interested in joining our staff team.
Equal Opportunities
Support for Living is committed in all our practices to ensure fairness, equality and diversity exists for everyone. This means more than simply meeting legislative requirements, but truly recognising that we have a greater social responsibility to our staff, our service users and the wider community.
We have changed our approach to recruitment and selection. It is rigorous and tailored to bring the best people to our doorstep. While we do require interested applicants to meet specific criteria, we actively encourage applications from all sections of the communities we serve. We take seriously our commitment to our employees to ensure they are treated fairly, regardless of gender, age, sexual orientation, race, disability, ethnic origin, marital status or religion, in all aspects of employment.
We believe in promoting opportunity for all who are willing to contribute to our values as an organisation. There are currently a number of supported employees who work with us as part of our team, who are also service users.
Everyone who joins the Support for Living team is provided with the opportunity to learn and develop so their jobs are more enjoyable and rewarding. Performance management is a key driver in our success as an organisation. It helps us ensure our staff are treated consistently and rewarded fairly.
