Projects and Initiatives
As Support for Living has grown, we have seen gaps: not only in our core funded services, but more generally in the support offered to individuals and families in the communities in which we work. Our substantial experience has also led us to come up with new and innovative - but also practical and workable - ideas.
Some projects described on these pages are about people with learning disabilities and people with mental health needs getting involved in mainstream services and activities, ensuring they can take up the same opportunities as any other citizen – including work, volunteering and healthcare. Breakaway also offers family carers a short break from being the main provider of care and support.
